Jobs

Still searching for a job. Thought I had one at Starbucks before I came up here but went for an interview and not sure it is going to work out. Also, I have had a couple leads on some jobs like window washing and a few other coffee/diners but those haven't really worked out either. Today, I have applied for an art shop, more coffee shops, and a bookstore. I hope I get something soon. Lifting it up to God.

New place means new place

Today, around 11:00am (PST), I noticed a call from a tenant of 515 12th Ave E had been missed. The message he had left informed me to call him about my application. My heart sank to my toes. Of course, being who I am, I thought the worst. His tone and the words he used just did not hit the ear nicely. I took a deep breathe, positioned my heart back to it's proper place and dialed his number. Spencer answered with an energetic, "Hello! This is Spencer." We went through normal phone call introductions and Spencer slowly cut to the chase. I guess he thought it would be funny to keep me in suspense. Not funny, Spencer. I finally heard the pleasing words, "The landlord approved your application. What room would you like?" Again, my heart dropped. I liked this drop of heart better than the first. I chose the room everyone that had applied wanted. It's nice. Small but less of a hotel room feel like the other room I had the option of occupying.

My room is the attic room. Windows all around and a feel of comfort even without furniture. It may get a tad cold during winter months and right now is pretty hot. Nothing could be worse weather wise than humid and hot as hell Baton Rouge, though. I think I will be just fine. The tenants of 515 12th Ave E are great. The friendly, clean, outdoorsy type. Perfect match so far.

I'm off to a great start here in Seattle, WA.
